http://www.vita-irs.org was the
first website set up for volunteers in 2003, and
subsequently the url changed to....
http://www.vita-volunteers.org
, the successor website. It is available and accessible to the general public.
Most information is added by the webmaster. In the past, visitors
entered information by signing the guest book, but do not
require an email address or registration.
Unfortunately because of the large number of spam messages
posted, message posting capability has been removed.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vita-irs is a separate
website and mailing list provided by Yahoo!Groups. Its
purpose is communication among VITA volunteers. Yahoo!Groups requires an email address for electronic
communication, and a Yahoo! Id for web access. Only
members have the ability to send email to other members of
the group, and add additional updated information by
uploading files.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vita-volunteers is a

Members may post messages to the group.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vita-coordinators is a
separate website and mailing list provided by Yahoo!Groups.
Membership is limited to Site Coordinators in the San Jose
Area and is otherwise closed. Members may post
messages to the group.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vita-information s a
separate website and mailing list provided by Yahoo!Groups.
Membership is open to anyone who want to join, and the purpose
is to send out announcements of a general nature to people
interested in volunteering for the VITA program, including a
monthly reminder. Messages may not posted by members,
only by Moderators and the IRS Vita Coordinator, and it is
expected that members will leave the group once they become
volunteers.
